In 2022, on the occasion of the ‘Year for Groundwater’, the Hydrogeology Journal published a topical collection of essays from IAH Commissions, including one on transboundary aquifers:

On 6-9 December 2021, UNESCO organized the conference “ISARM2021 – Transboundary Aquifers: Challenges and the Way Forward”, in order to showcase the variety of efforts in improving the assessment and the management of transboundary aquifers across the world. The book of abstracts was published, as well as a selection of papers illustrating the challenges and the way forward with transboundary aquifers of the world. On the occasion, IGRAC also published a global outline of transboundary aquifers, coming back to more than 20 years of efforts in TBA assessment and governance.
